oncept make this “buddy” drama wholly entertaining. There are moments of comedy that help the movie along, even as if deals with very heavy and delicate subject matter.
As someone who’s dealt with suicidal ideation and mental health issues, it is refreshing to see two people discuss their issues in the same way I do.
Val (Jerrod Carmichael) and Kevin (Christopher Abbot) are both wanting to end their life, but decide they’ll have one more day before doing so. The script goes down many unexpected paths, and you’re unsure if the script is going to really “go for it” but it does in the second act.
The movie builds tension and ramps up the stacks, for better or for worse. The two leads are great, With a solid supporting cast (Tiffany Haddish, JB Smoove and Henry Winkler), this is one I suggest you check out.
